Two a day workouts? Why not!
I'm not going to lie; there are better running authors out there on the
big and bad world wide web than yours truly. So rather than
attempt to do a second-rate job of discussing this topic, I'm
going to provide a link to an excellent article written by Peter
Pfitzinger, a world renowed exercise physiologist and US Olympian in
the marathon.
Before providing the link, I offer a few comments:
- Pfitzinger briefly mentions x-training, instead of
running, as an alternative for a second workout. Possibly
x-training options include swimming, the elipitical trainer, the stair
climber, cycling, cross country skiing, or snowshoeing. Remember,
however, the key to x-training as a second workout is easy and aerobic
- any x-training you do should enhance, not compromisie, any of the
running that you do.
- From a marketing point of view, linking to a site
with a competing coaching service is probably not the wisest thing to
do. However, I'd encourage anyone considering an online coach to
shop around and find a coach who's compatible with your goals, your
style, your budget, etc.
So enjoy the article and make sure you hit the BACK button on your
browser and return to the Run Quick site when you're done.
